7: Proper Potter Premiere Protocol

7 days, 1 week, 7 horcruxes, it is also July 7th. if it was 2007 my mind would be blown.  But it isn't so the fun  stops at 7/7/11

12. Now that you've gotten yourself perfectly settled in the theatre, it is probably around 9:30, which means you only have 2 and a half hours left until the end.  (time has flown by hasn't it?).  Now is your chance to really shine! the level of excitement is already at epic proportions, and it is your job as the coolest person in the theatre to make sure that level stays up.  Most people will be friendly and interactive, so use this to your advantage and start a riot. Now, when I say riot, I don't mean pitchforks and torches, I mean music and wands! Every self respecting potter fan at the premiere will be well versed in the pop-culture surrounding the books, including the youtube sensations that have been created as a result.  I recommend assigning the theatre different parts in the hit youtube phenomenon "The Mysterious Ticking Noise".  People will go CRAY CRAY for you, trust me, and don't you always strive to be the best?

Strange things did happen here...

I have to interrupt my riveting Scott Chuck comparisons for a moment as I tell my readers (all 3 of you) about my new favorite series of books (not replacing Harry Potter though). My school;s book club decided to start reading the first book in the Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins as our next book of the year. At first I was reluctant to start reading it because the premise of teens killing teens on live television seemed weird and gory, but I finally relented to reading on one snowy January day, when my power was out. I became obsessed with the book approximately one hour later, when I had already gone throu 1/4 of the book. A day later I finished the book and asked for the next two for my birthday. I won't give away any of the books spoilers or anything, but I could NOT PUT THE BOOKS DOWN. I finished the last one today and am sad that they are over, but decided to highlight their awesomeness to the world with a pro and (very small) con list.

Pros

  1. It's a new idea (Like an incredibly high stakes Survivor)
  2. It's witty (characters are actually funny)
  3. Characters are likable
  4. PEETA
  5. Seriously, you won't be able to stop reading
  6. It's fast paced and never boring
  7. Suspenseful
  8. It's just fun to read
  9. Flupping awesome.

Cons (as if)
  1. It played with my emotions and made me depressed for a whole day.
  2. The main character is sometimes annoying/stupid
  3. Gale.
  4. Mental anguish
Anyways, I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a reader and even if you're not a reader, read it anyways. That way when the movie comes out next year, you won't be wondering what the hell is going on. Hunger Games is offically my second favorite book series.

EVER. (mind blowing isn't it?)

Oops!

Sorry I haven't written anything in a while, but obviously at this point I am still just writing to myself so it doesnt matter, but I have been so busy these last few weeks! I'm soooo glad spring break is only a week away! For starters, last weekend I was in NYC with my mom, my sister, and my friend. We had oodles upon oodles of fun, running the bank accounts dry and eating out body weight in bread. After going in all the big name stores however, I have to say my favorite store was Bendels. It had so many headbands WHICH ARE MY OBSESSION. okay. This weekend however wasn't as fun or glamorous as my trip to the Big Apple, as I was at a church retreat, praising the lord. We did all the fun Koombai-yah things you do on a church retreat, and we cleansed our souls of past wrongdoings. Unfortunately for me, I may have told a little lie during confession about the last time I had gone to confession...is that counter-productive or what? So all in all, I think I would perfer a weekend in New York to a weekend at church. Anyways, I will try to blog more during spring break, what with all the excitement of training a puppy, this will become the most exciting blog in the world.
