Scott Bass? part four

Despite my little interruption proclaiming my love for the Hunger Games (sigh) I have not lost site of what is important you all. Particularly the comparison of a fictional character and a reality show character. And this weeks topic is: Relationships ;)

Chuck and Blair, Chair, Bluck, Waldass, Bassdorf, whatever you want to call them, Chuck and Blair are the driving force of Gossip Girl, their tumultuous relationship has it's ups and downs, what with lies betrayal, and the little incident where Chuck sold Blair's body to his Uncle for a hotel...anyways they fight, they bicker, Chuck drinks, Blair cries, they kiss and make up, but at the end of the day you know that these to are going to stay together, if only for the ratings. Similarly...

Kourtney and Scott, Scourtney, Kott, Kardisick, Dishian, whatever you want to call them, Kourtney and Scott are the hot couple on Keeping up with the Kardashians, Kourtney and Khloe take Miami, and Kourtney and Kim Take New York. If only because they seem to be on the verge of breaking up every other episode. Even after Scott impregnated Kourtney with Mase-Face, their troubles didn't seem to end, they fight, they bicker, Scott drinks, Kourtney cries, they kiss and makeup, because at the end of the day, the ratings don't lie, and we love these couples.

Strange things did happen here...

I have to interrupt my riveting Scott Chuck comparisons for a moment as I tell my readers (all 3 of you) about my new favorite series of books (not replacing Harry Potter though). My school;s book club decided to start reading the first book in the Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins as our next book of the year. At first I was reluctant to start reading it because the premise of teens killing teens on live television seemed weird and gory, but I finally relented to reading on one snowy January day, when my power was out. I became obsessed with the book approximately one hour later, when I had already gone throu 1/4 of the book. A day later I finished the book and asked for the next two for my birthday. I won't give away any of the books spoilers or anything, but I could NOT PUT THE BOOKS DOWN. I finished the last one today and am sad that they are over, but decided to highlight their awesomeness to the world with a pro and (very small) con list.

Pros

1. It's a new idea (Like an incredibly high stakes Survivor)
2. It's witty (characters are actually funny)
3. Characters are likable
4. PEETA
5. Seriously, you won't be able to stop reading
6. It's fast paced and never boring
7. Suspenseful
8. It's just fun to read
9. Flupping awesome.
   

Cons (as if)

1. It played with my emotions and made me depressed for a whole day.
2. The main character is sometimes annoying/stupid
3. Gale.
4. Mental anguish

Anyways, I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a reader and even if you're not a reader, read it anyways. That way when the movie comes out next year, you won't be wondering what the hell is going on. Hunger Games is offically my second favorite book series.

Scott Bass? part three

On a happy note: I have reached 700 views! Something to be proud of in my mind. On an interesting note: the mysterious parallels continue with: drinking


Anyone who watches Gossip Girl knows that, among Chuck's more negative attributes he like the liquor. He is often see throughout the show sporting some kind of alcoholic beverage, whether it be vodka, brandy, or his drink of choice scotch. Although his drinking isn't a focus of the show, the only problem being the fact that he can order drinks at a bar a not be carded (even though when the show starts he is a junior), it is still mentioned and showed enough to be a part of his character.


Scott Disick also has an apparent drinking problem, although his problem affects his life more than his TV counterparts problem does. You could call this up to me being nit picky or whatever, but Scott didn't have this "problem" (which I personally believe is exaggerated by the producers) until he started to become a more central player in the show. OR until CHUCK became a central player in Gossip Girl. Both men are constantly imbibing the dutch courage and parading around like it isn't 2 in the afternoon. The only difference is reality vs. fantasy in this situation. Whereas Chuck is an actor portraying someone who may be a wee bit tipsy but is otherwise completely in control of his actions. Scott is an actual drunkard sloshing around and being sloppy.


















Still, ya gotta love em both.

Scott Bass? part two

Since there is a new episode of the greatest show of our time and the series premiere of the second great show(s) of our time I decided it was time for another installment in this multi-part series! (I hope by this point you realise I watch too much television for my own good).

Job -

When we first met Scott he worked as a...well to be honest we didn't really know what his job was, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't incredibly glamorous or scandalous. When we first met Chuck Bass he was a high school junior who was so rich he didn't need a job, but he did have an interest in owning clubs. Soon enough, as Chuck donned the suits and started taking over all the clubs in New York and creating them in his own image, Scott begins to pick up the hobby of owning clubs in Miami and creating them in his "own" image. It wasn't until Kourtney and Scott even moved to Miami that we found out Scott is an entrepreneur of sorts. This may be purely coincidental, but at the same time - it's totally not.

Let's be realistic here, same hair, same suit, same job, same person.

Scott Bass? part one

Since the first time I did a part by part blogging spree it turned out so well i decided to try it again!!! woop woop

It has been far too long since i posted something substantial, and its about time. So hear goes my thought process. While perusing the internet (people.com to be exact) I found a picture of my celebrity crush, ed westwick. But this isn't about unrequited love, its about questionable similarities. At the same time that I was admiring Chuck Bass's (Ed Westwick's character on Gossip Girl) glamorous wardrobe, Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami just happened to be on. And then it occured to me Scott- Kourtney's "bad news" boyfriend, is trying to emulate Chuck Bass in every aspect of his life...

Up until a few years ago, Scott dressed like everyone else in the world. Jeans, T-shirt etc. But in the last two years his style has evolved to become exceedingly metro; paisley ties, pastel jackets, shoes and no socks, perfectly creased pants, and many many suspenders. As the seasons have gone on Scott's fashion sense has gotten more and more colorful and well, whimsical. It's a fairly far fetched style and Chuck Bass claimed the look a little more than two years ago. Just a few months before Scott chose to make it his signature style. Don't believe me? here ya go!

Oops

So its been a unseemly long time since I posted on my lovely blog, and I can tell without checking that I have no new followers, although i could've told you that even if I had posted a mind-blowingly awesome post everyday till kingdom come (I'm not very popular in the blogging world). So I promise, within the next few day (or minutes, if something astonishingly brilliant his me) I will post something very nice and rewarding for those of you who actually read my blogs. At the Beach?

Get to work on that killer tan

Out of sheer boredom, I am blogging about my current location and how it is affecting me.

Currently, I am in Bethany Beach, DE. Currently it is 32 F outside, and at the end of December. oh yeah - there is also about half a foot of snow outside at our beach house. Now, when one thinks of a beach house, they think of a place to escape the cold weather and relax in the sun, working on a killer tan. NOT a place where you have to put on more layers in order to stay warm inside your house. So why am I here? Because my parents wanted to escape the helter skelter of life in the 'burbs of DC and go to the beach, which, during the winter, is populated by the old folks who live here year round. As grateful as I am that we have a beach house, I do NOT like being cramped here during the winter. Most people who only visit these quaint little beach towns in the summer don't know what they are like in the winter, well I'll tell you what its like -


It's like there was a massive evacuation of a town because of an airborne diesease that lethally effects anyone under the age of 60. No stores are open, the beach is useless unless I'm enough of a massochist to jump in and hope for hypotermia (there isn't a nearby hospital anyways, only a vet), it is cold outside, and your lucky to find a resturaunt that doesn't close at 8:00.


All I can do to keep myself entertained is my homework
